Gunatilake, Thanushika

PhD Student

Research:

My Master degree was about monsoon-related seismicity in Northwest India and to expand this topic my research will focus on the quantification of earthquakes and their response within the earth interior. To understand different processes, as well as the sequences of seismicity, numerical modeling will be conducted. To be continued.

Education:

  • 2017 - 2019: M.Sc. in Geophysics, Department of Geophysics Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms, University of Bonn, Germany
Master’s Thesis: Geophysical study of fault structures and their correlation with monsoon-related seismicity in Talala, Northwest India.
  • 2014 - 2017: B.Sc. in Geology and Geophysics, Steinmann-Institut für Geologie, Mineralogie und Palaeontologie Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms, University of Bonn, Germany
Bachelor’s Thesis: Development of a geological model of a landslide near Bonn based on geophysical measurements.

Position held:

  • 2019 - Present: PhD Candidate, Laboratory of Geothermics and Geodynamics, CHYN, UniNe, Switzerland
