Research domains

Understanding how interactions between species and their environment shape responses in natural populations is a prerequisite to unravel the mechanisms behind the formation of ecotypes, but also to predict consequences of novel environments introduced by climate change.

My research explores how species’ interactions with their environment and other organisms shape eco-evolutionary processes in natural populations. By combining field experiments across elevation gradients of mountains with analytical approaches from the disciplines of ecology, evolutionary biology and metabolomics, my current work investigates how the interplay with plants and their abiotic and biotic environment shape current and future populations.
